Life in its grand wonders has decided that I'm going to start a blog.
I need a blog.
Blogs are good.
This morning I was thinking about religion.
What if government officials just decided to create religion?
And of course the people wouldn't reject the idea because it's so nice to think of a life after life.
Then crime would decrease somewhat due to the people's devotion to a deity and their somewhat skewed views on right and wrong.
I mean, it makes sense.
I don't understand the whole situation of Jesus, anyways, so there has to be a more rational explanation for those who aren't as willing to view life as multiple sections of revival and dedication to this creature whom you don't even see once in your lifetime.
I also don't get the Christian rejection for those things ''magical'' (for example; Harry Potter's wands and the like), for Jesus' resurrection can't be anything short of it.
On another note, I think it's strange how many people are trying to be different when it would be so much less complicated and simple if we were more the same.
I'm not talking gray blobs (only in my dreams; Alex GRAY?; anyways), but if we had a whole level of comprehension and understanding, there would be less hate, anger and rejection.
On my way home from school, me and my mom were talking about some guy she's known for years. She said she would never date him because he was too "co-dependent" & I just called it a light, more technical term for "clingy". In short, we got in a tiff about the difference; he gets depressed and lonely and can't even go out with his friends whom have significant others if he's single and she regarded it as a completely horrible, terrible thing. Sure, it's not healthy, but she went a little nuts with it.
My point: Some people are so negative and hateful towards things they don't understand.
She's an intraverted person whom has been alone, some 10 years, and doesn't realize that there are people that are just very... for lack of a better word, "troubled" when they are alone. They like to be around people and tend to need relationships to keep them uplifted, so when they are without, they get depressed when reminded that they are alone.
Like me, for example. I am very much this way. Not so much that it affects my ability to function, but it does make me a little upset because I need that constant social aspect of being with another. It doesn't mean "needy" or "clingy" but simply different in almost every sense of the word. I appreciate conversation and without it I am saddened.
Hence blogging. It's a chat with my concious mind about the things revolving in the sub-concious.
Anyways!
Off I go to listen to audiobooks while I dwindle to Slumberland.

So then that would make me the person that proves your conscious mind's theory wrong by actually reading the post. And what is your opinion on a goverment issued, constructed lingua franca?
ReplyDeleteLingua Franca is something that I've enjoyed thinking about for a while. It really depends on if you're talking about universal or simply within the country.
ReplyDeleteWithin the country, I almost think it useless, simply because most Americans speak English and it would almost be a waste of time to learn a seperate language for those who don't speak English.
Universal Lingua Franca's are boring. Their oversimplified grammars make me want to fall asleep. I mean a "political language" that was enforced by law. Then a government could do something like George Orwell's newspeak. By that I mean legally restricting freedom of speech by enforcing at first a "Universal, Easy to Learn" language, and later making certain words illegal to say. That's just my plan for world domination, what's yours?
ReplyDeleteThis is true. The only flaw with your portrayal of world domination is the lack of people who will actually abide by the language or even bother to learn it. You can't just create the law without the consent of others, now can you? In America, atleast.
ReplyDeleteMy plan? To play cute and cuddly and then massacre & turn into a dictator. I hear that's the way to go.
You fail to understand that by the time I come to power, America will be in such a desperate state that they'll see me and my language as a unifying force (Stupid, but hey, look at the effect religions have had on diverse groups of people.) At first I will encourage its use, then make it mandatory in schools, until finally put a death penalty without trial for not speaking it. I like your plan better. I thought you were the type to not answer a question like that. Whatever. So what are your religious views? (I'm a Cthulhu cultist.)
ReplyDeleteThat's because my plan is the plan of all plans. It always works. Always.
ReplyDeleteYour religious views are pretty enticing, I must say, but I definately follow my belief of creating my own diety that ironically has the same perspective of life that I do and might actually listen to what I have to say.
Whatever floats your boat. Yes, I do! Well, sort of. Not necessarily spaghetti, but more of a goddess of light and honesty (since when are gods always male?).
ReplyDeleteWell technically Cthulhu doesn't have a sex. He's an elder being. My simple, stupid, primitive male mind simply used the 3rd person singular masculine genitive determiner there because it was typoing too quickly. Sorry, I get like that. Oh, I also worship Thamar, godess of Chaos and Cyriss, maiden of the gear (steampunk god. Yes, I'm a steampunk.) So there's two female godesses I also sacrifice to. I wonder, have you ever seen this: http://jesuscansuckmycock.blogspot.com/2009/12/one-nation-under-cthulhu.html
ReplyDeleteSo when are you planning on writing your religion's holy book and/or making its myspace page?
I have not -giggles-. And I forgive you for using the masculine pronoun. I also am impressed by your worship of goddesses. I'll definately skip the holy book and myspace page (them being the same thing at this point), and just continue to be loyal to her. She's so powerful she doesn't need them anyways.
ReplyDeleteAnd how do you suppose you are going to garner up a cult following for your goddess without first some way to advertise. Oh and Cthulhu doen't float my boat, he sinks it. Impressed? What? If I'm polytheistic there has to be some female godesses, so I am curious as to why you are impressed. Also, did you like the picture (comparison)?
ReplyDeleteI do like the comparison, actually. Quite beautiful. And polytheistic doesn't necessarily always mean there's a goddess in there. Is it likely? Yes, but not always true.
ReplyDelete& She doesn't need a cult; I am the cult. All of those kids that're non-believers and just pray for the hell of because they're scared/lonely/needing to thank something, they ACTUALLY pray to her. She's really just the goddess for all of those who don't believe. An unknown belief in and of itself.
So in reality, your goddess is really the human expression of desire for companionship, the will to create and believe in the supernatural, and your (apparent) will to be defiant by having a god that isn't a prissy and demanding asshole. Honestly, I prefer the approach that Forgotten Realms took. The gods exist, they made you, but they don't really care about you because you bore them. Humans are more on the boring side aren't they?
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, and yes.
ReplyDeleteI think I like the loving, nurturing side more.
If you're seeking companionship to begin with, you want a loving companion, right?
